This is Charisse now…

“Bold, Strong, Edgy and Beautiful”…This is the mantra Charisse goes as an artist. Everything she does is guided by this mantra…In her art, art openings, when filming her docuseries around the world, when creating in any platforms . Charisse lives her life OVER THE TOP…as someone had commented. She thrives living on the edge, exciting, unpredictable.

In 2004, she wrote, “I am an American Filipino and very proud and blessed to be the product of both cultures… polar opposites, diverse but rich in substance.” Now she has become an amalgam of a variety of cultures. Living in Los Angeles for a good number of years molded her into this amalgam but also traveling the world, embracing and literally absorbing all cultures transformed her. With authenticity she says, “The Sum of Life’s Experiences Makes Us Feel More, Live More, Love More.”

“Art does not start with a painting nor does it end with a sculpture. When a mind and a soul crosses that divide that limits US but rather is immortalized in film, now that is ART ON ANOTHER REALM. That is what I am exactly doing now.” So it is that Charisse travels the world to see, feel, and embrace the beauty of the world…Art because it allows us to take a peek into that culture’s soul. She films cuisine because the table is where family and friends converge, thus we witness the culture’s sense of celebration. She films LOVE…hugs, kisses, friends and family alike, lovers holding hands…because LOVE is the FOUNTAIN of SPIRITUAL YOUTH… FOUNTAIN OF LIFE!

“By painting with oil wet on wet, the oil paint thrust onto the canvas with a palette knife, there is that thrilling element of surprise…the layers upon layers of paint so exhilarating!” Charisse will always paint with a palette knife, thick paint, strong colors… unpredictable in the end, carefully meticulously studied while in the process, inspiration always from her heart.

Charisse dreams like the little girl, a grader, that was always punished by the nuns for daydreaming, made to sit at the back of the classroom. The dreamer that people made fun of because her dreams are again… over the top! And yet, this dreamer now is a worldwide artist, a filmmaker. This dreamer is now on the way to continue to inspire the world! As of this writing, this dreamer had her first talk on the global talk platform, TEDX NHHS YOUTH! “TOGETHER LET US INSPIRE!”… So let us INSPIRE!”.
